Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”What’s the difference between a client and a lead in Service Buddy?
A lead is a prospect — someone who has shown interest but hasn’t bought yet. A client is someone you’re actively working with or have done work for. Convert a lead to a client when they commit (signed quote, paid deposit, agreed to a measure). See Convert a lead to a client.
Should I use “client” or “customer” in conversation with my team?
Service Buddy uses client consistently throughout the app and these guides. The term works equally well for residential homeowners and commercial accounts.
How do I handle a client with multiple addresses?
Each client can have multiple properties (install addresses) — useful for landlords, property managers, and commercial clients with multiple locations. Each property carries its own tax rate and job history. See Manage client properties.
What if two people are involved (a couple, a billing contact)?
Use Additional Contacts on the client profile for extra people under one client account. Use separate clients only when the buying entities are genuinely independent. See Add additional contacts.
Where do I see everything I’ve ever done for a client?
Open the client’s profile — every quote, job, invoice, payment, message, and note tied to them is visible there. Useful for repeat-client relationships where context matters more than recent activity.
