Attach a scope of work to a quote

Once you’ve saved a scope of work template, attach it to any quote to pre-fill the document with your standard wording.

  1. Open or create a quote.
  2. Scroll to the Scope Of Work section.
  3. Click the Select… dropdown and choose the template you want.
  4. The template is selected — it will appear on the quote when viewed by the client.
  5. Click Save.
Why is the Scope Of Work dropdown empty?

You haven’t created any SOW templates yet. Set them up first at SettingsQuote (under Work Settings) → Scope Of Work tab. See Create a scope of work template.

Can I attach more than one SOW to the same quote?

Each quote attaches one SOW template at a time. If you need to combine multiple scopes (a stair runner install plus a tear-out, for example), create a combined template like Stair Runner Install + Tear-Out, or use the most relevant single SOW and add the extras as line items or notes.

Can I edit the SOW text on the quote itself?

Once attached, the SOW content is part of the quote and can be edited inline for that specific quote. Edits there don’t affect the source template — they’re a one-off change for that document only.

Will the client see the SOW as part of the quote PDF?

Yes — the SOW appears in the quote and on the digital proposal page the client opens. It’s the narrative that contextualizes your line items.

What happens to the attached SOW when I convert the quote to a job?

The SOW carries over to the job, so your install crew sees the same scope description on the job record. They can refer to it on site without needing to dig back into the quote.

Can I change the SOW template on a quote that’s already been sent?

Yes — open the quote, change the SOW selection, save, and re-send. The client sees the updated version when they next open the link. Don’t change SOWs on a quote that’s already been Approved by the client without re-confirming with them.
