Update several items at once
A mill raises prices across a whole line. A supplier adds a freight surcharge. You’ve just counted the warehouse and forty items need a new quantity. Editing those one at a time is an afternoon; editing them together is a few minutes.
- Click Settings in the left sidebar, then click Products & Services (under Company Management).
- Check the box on every item you want to change. Filter or search first to narrow the list — your selection is kept as you move between pages.
- Click Bulk Actions at the top of the list and choose Update.
- Your selected items open in a review grid, one row each, with their current values filled in.
- Edit any cell you want to change and leave the rest alone.
- Click Confirm Update.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- Your changes are applied in the background, and the Products list refreshes when it’s done.
- Only the cells you actually edited change — anything you left alone keeps its current value.
- Quotes and invoices you’ve already created keep the prices they were created with. Updates only affect new use of the item.
Other bulk actions
Section titled “Other bulk actions”Bulk Actions also gives you:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Export | Download the items you selected as a spreadsheet |
| Create Labels | Print shelf or bin labels for the selection — see Print labels |
| Update | Edit the selection in a review grid |
How is this different from importing a spreadsheet?
Importing brings in items that don’t exist yet. This changes items you already have. If you import a spreadsheet of names that are already in your catalog, you get duplicates — so for changes, always use Bulk Actions → Update. See Import items in bulk.
Can I update items across several pages of the list?
Yes. Selections carry as you page through, so you can check items on page one, move to page two, and keep going. The Bulk Actions button shows a running count of what you’ve selected.
Which fields can I change?
The same fields you’d set on the item itself — name, description, cost, unit price, markup, quantity, measurement unit, inventory type, vendor, tax exempt, and your custom fields.
Can I use this to do a stock count?
You can, and for a modest count it’s the quickest route: select the items you counted, update the quantity on each row, and confirm. Where the reason for the change matters — damage, samples, transfers — use Adjust Stock on the item instead so the reason is recorded in its history. See Track inventory levels.
Can I undo a bulk update?
No. Run a small batch first when you’re making a large or unfamiliar change, and export the selection beforehand if you want a record of the previous values.
Why is the Bulk Actions button not doing anything?
It needs at least one item checked. The count in the button tells you how many are currently selected.
